About Dead Dead Demon's Dededede Destruction
Best friends Kadode Koyama and Oran Nakagawa finish high school under a stalled alien mothership over Tokyo, mixing daily life with slow dread. Inio Asano's manga ran from April 2014 to February 2022 in 12 volumes. Production +h. adapted it as two 120 minute films directed by Tomoyuki Kurokawa with scripts by Reiko Yoshida, part one opened March 22, 2024 and part two on May 24, 2024 after a delay.
An 18 episode streaming edition ran weekly on Crunchyroll from May 24 to September 20, 2024 with reordered scenes and new footage, including an episode zero prologue. It covers the same plot as the two films, not a sequel, with Takaaki Suzuki credited on the series scripts. New viewers should choose the two films or the 18 episodes, since watching both repeats the same ending.
Good to know
There is no separate chronological order worth listing for this single timeline story. Release order and story order are the same list, since both cuts move from the mothership arrival to the same finale. Pick the films for a tight two night watch or the 18 episode version for slower pacing and extra scenes. Do not treat the series as a sequel, it repeats the films.
