About Dororo
Dororo adapts Osamu Tezuka's cursed-samurai tale twice: Hyakkimaru hunts the demons holding his stolen body parts, with the thief Dororo alongside. The 1969 series runs 26 black-and-white episodes and ends its own way; the 2019 MAPPA version runs 24 episodes as a prestige remake with a different, bleaker close.
Watch either version first; they are separate adaptations of the unfinished manga, not sequel and original. The 2019 series is the natural start for modern viewers, with the 1969 run as history.
