The Elusive Samurai adapts Yusei Matsui's manga about Tokiyuki Hojo fleeing the Kamakura fall. Season 1 ran 12 episodes from July 2024 at CloverWorks with Yoriko Tomita on scripts. Season 2 ran 12 episodes from July 2026 after its Jump Festa announcement, continuing the retainer search and the Ashikaga fight.
The manga runs past 230 chapters, so both seasons adapt forward without filler. Crunchyroll streams the series with the first season re-airing on Fuji TV before season 2. There is no movie or OVA to slot, so the two seasons form one short list.
Good to know
Watch season 1 before season 2, since the Elusive Warriors join one by one and stay joined. Tokiyuki's escape from Kamakura opens the story, so the retainer hunt that follows needs that setup. Expect stylized action with historical names used loosely. The manga continues past the anime, so a third season is possible but unannounced as of 2026.
