About Galaxy Express
Galaxy Express 999 is Leiji Matsumoto space opera about Tetsuro seeking a machine body on the 999 train with mysterious Maetel. The TV run aired 113 episodes from 1978 to 1981, then Rintaro films retold and continued it with Galaxy Express in 1979, Adieu Galaxy Express in 1981, and Eternal Fantasy in 1998.
TV and films overlap the same Andromeda quest with different endings. Watch the 1978 series first for the full ride, then the three films in release order as alternate continuations rather than strict sequels.
