About Gorou Taniguchi
Gorou Taniguchi opened with Infinite Ryvius in 1999 about kids adrift on a ship in space. s-CRY-ed followed in 2001 with alter users dueling in the Lost Ground, then Planetes in 2003 grounded him with debris collectors in orbit. Gun x Sword arrived in 2005 as a western mecha hunt for the Claw.
Code Geass came in 2006 with Lelouch ordering the world masked, and R2 in 2008 closed with the Zero Requiem plan. The shows share Sunrise mecha and gambits but only Geass links plot. Release order shows his space run tightening into the chess peak.
Good to know
Watch oldest to newest since each crew resets except Geass two linked ones. Infinite Ryvius first sets the ship grammar well. Planetes suits calm nights while Code Geass needs the full 50 episodes back to back. No next series has a date yet, so R2 stays last until one is announced. Keep the Geass films optional since the series covers it all.
