About Honey Lemon Soda

Honey Lemon Soda follows Uka Ishimori, a shy high schooler rebuilding her confidence, and Kai Miura, the lemon-haired classmate who pushes her forward. The manga by Mayu Murata ran in Ribon from December 2015 to April 2026 and closed at 31 volumes, so season one only covers the opening stretch.

The live-action film opened July 9, 2021 with an 111 minute runtime, directed by Koji Shintoku and starring Raul as Kai and Ai Yoshikawa as Uka. The TV anime aired January 9 to March 27, 2025 on Fuji TV's +Ultra block, 12 episodes animated by J.C.Staff and planned by TMS Entertainment, streamed by Crunchyroll. It starts the manga from the beginning, so treat the film as a separate retelling rather than a prequel or sequel.

Good to know

There is no separate chronological order worth listing here. Both versions tell the same opening chapters in a straight line, so release order and story order are the same list. Watch the 2025 anime for the main path, since its 12 episodes carry the story further with more room to breathe. Count the 2021 film as an optional alternate take with condensed events and a different ending point.
