About Kekkaishi
Kekkaishi follows Yoshimori and Tokine, teen barrier masters guarding Karasumori academy from nightly demons. The anime runs 52 episodes from 2006 to 2008 across the early ayakashi hunts, the Kokuboro war and the final legacy battles.
Watch episodes one through 52 in broadcast order. Barrier techniques and the Kokuboro officers stack in sequence, so the war finale needs the hunt buildup. The manga runs 35 volumes past the anime's stopping point with no second adaptation, which keeps the extra chapters in the notes for readers. Dub and sub both cover the run.
Good to know
There is no film or second season, so the 52 episodes are the anime set. Early hunts teach the kekkai shapes that the Kokuboro war assumes. The anime ending closes its own arc rather than adapting the final manga volumes. No continuation has been announced, leaving the manga as the only path past the legacy battles.
