About KonoSuba
KonoSuba follows Kazuma and his party of Aqua, Megumin and Darkness across three TV seasons: 2016, 2017 and 2024. Each season has an OVA beside it, and the 2019 Legend of Crimson film sends the party to the Crimson Demon village. An Explosion on This Wonderful World from 2023 is a twelve-episode Megumin prequel set a year before she meets Kazuma.
Release order keeps the jokes landing, since the prequel assumes you already love Megumin. Chronological order pulls Explosion to the front and tucks the Choker OVA into the middle of season 2. The 2025 OVAs Red Stream Explosion and Beware of Fakes close out the current run after season 3.
Good to know
Watch in release order first. Explosion spoils nothing but plays better once you know Megumin's punchlines from the main show. The Choker OVA sits inside season 2's run in story terms, and the Art OVA sits after it, but both were made as extras. Crunchyroll carries the seasons, the film and the spinoff together, which makes release order the practical path without switching services.
