About Look Back
Look Back premiered at Annecy in June 2024 then opened June 28, 2024 in Japan from Studio Durian with Kiyotaka Oshiyama directing Tatsuki Fujimoto one shot. Fujino draws four panel strips while shut in Kyomoto watches and copies. The 58 minute run follows desks through earthquake and drafts.
It won Japan Academy Best Animation for 2025 and streams on Prime from November 2024. A live action Kore-eda version opened September 2026 apart from anime. Watch the single film straight, since the hallway dance through blank pages needs the quiet build.
Good to know
There is no series or chronological split worth listing. The school years through adult desks play forward in one 58 minute run with strong art and sound. Do not mix the 2026 live action version into anime order, since it retells separately. Treat the 2024 anime film as finished, with no sequel announced.
