About Mamoru Hosoda films
Mamoru Hosoda moved from Toei to Madhouse and then founded Studio Chizu in 2011, directing a run of original films about family, virtual worlds and growing up. Every film is a standalone story, so release order is the whole guide and also the best tour of how his style changed.

Scarlet opened in Japan on November 21, 2025 and in the United States on December 12, 2025, and no next film has been announced. His earlier Digimon short films belong to the Digimon franchise, so they are covered there rather than here.
