About March Comes in Like a Lion
Rei Kiriyama is a teenage professional shogi player living alone in Tokyo, slowly learning to lean on the Kawamoto sisters who take him in. Shaft adapted Chica Umino's manga as two 22-episode seasons in 2016 and 2017, and release order matches story order.
Good to know
Umino's manga is still serializing and entered its final stretch in 2023, but no third anime season had been announced as of September 2026. The two-part live-action film from March and April 2017 retells the early story in a separate continuity.
