About Marmalade Boy
Marmalade Boy adapts Wataru Yoshizumi's romance with Miki Koishikawa living with Yuu Matsuura after their parents swap partners. The TV run from March 1994 spans 76 episodes on ABC Asahi with Toei animation, covering school festivals, tennis and New York distance.
The 1995 film runs 30 minutes as a side trip with Yuu's New York visit. No sequel series was made, so the TV finale plus film form the close. The 2018 live action film retells the same plot separately with no link to the anime voices.
Good to know
Watch episodes one to 76 then the 1995 film, since the movie sets itself after the TV farewell. The middle New York arc drags but sets up the final choice plainly. The live action version compresses the same beats and fits best after as a curiosity. Treat the anime run as closed with one true pairing at the end.
