Koji Kabuto pilots Mazinger Z against Dr. Hell, then Tetsuya Tsurugi takes over in Great Mazinger before Duke Fleed carries the story into Grendizer.
Mazinger Z: Infinity revisits those pilots years later, while titles like Mazinkaiser and Shin Mazinger retell or expand the same material in separate continuities.
