About Mermaid Melody
Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch (2003 to 2004) follows Lucia and the mermaid princesses defending the seas through idol songs across 52 episodes. Pure (2004) continues with new enemies and the Aqua Regina arc across 39 episodes.
Broadcast order is the guide; Pure assumes the first run's romances and rivalries completely. The show is classic magical-idol formula with collectible transformation overload, which is exactly the appeal. The manga by Michiko Yokote runs alongside with differences, but the anime is the complete version most fans know.
Good to know
The two runs total 91 episodes, so this is a commitment aimed at idol fans: the songs are the point, and they hold up. English versions exist only in edited form in some regions, so subtitles are the complete path. The manga's ending differs from the anime's, giving readers a bonus variant. No continuation has been announced since 2004, so the two runs are the set.
