About Monster Rancher
Monster Rancher adapts Tecmo's Monster Farm games as Genki gets pulled into the monster world with Holly, Mocchi, Suezo, Golem, Tiger and Hare. The first series, Secret of the Stone Disc, ran 48 episodes from April 1999 to March 2000 around the Moo fight and the Phoenix fusion. The second series, Legend Road, ran 25 episodes from April to September 2000 around the Legend Cup.
TMS Entertainment animated both runs for TBS with Hiroyuki Yano directing. The English dub split the run into three seasons but the story stays linear. There are no films to place, so the two series form one short list.
Good to know
Watch Secret of the Stone Disc before Legend Road, since the second quest assumes the Moo ending. The dub season numbering varies by region, so follow the two Japanese series instead. Holly's search for her father spans both runs, so the payoff needs the full sequence. The anime ended in 2000 with no sequel announced, so the Legend Cup is the endpoint.
