About Now and Then, Here and There
Now and Then Here and There is an original anime from AIC directed by Akitaro Daichi with Hideyuki Kurata writing. Akemi Okamura voices Shu Matsutani, Kaori Nazuka voices Lala-Ru, Koji Ishii voices King Hamdo. Shu saves a sunset girl and lands in Hellywood.
Thirteen episodes aired October 14, 1999 to January 20, 2000. The run moves from the pendant grab through soldier ranks, sandstorm loss and chasm fall to the bloody earth close. Taku Iwasaki scores. The show keeps Shu non killing throughout, which the finale tests. No sequel aired as of October 2026.
Good to know
Watch episodes 1 through 13 in order. The pendant loss early drives every search after. Sara village thread near the middle only lands after the soldier stretch. The finale sends Shu home through Abelia. Content runs heavy on war violence despite the young cast. Start at the sunset episode, the smokestack frames all.
