About Ojamajo Doremi
Ojamajo Doremi (1999 to 2003) follows Doremi and her friends through four seasons of witch apprenticeship, each year bringing a new baby witch to raise and a new exam to fail upward through. The show grows its cast up in real time, from grade school to high school across the run.
Release order throughout: the original, Sharp, Motto and Dokkaan, then the Na-i-sho OVA (2004) side stories, then the 2020 film Looking for Magical Doremi about adult fans. The series is the rare long magical-girl run that sticks its emotional landings. The light novels continue past the anime for devotees.
Good to know
The four series total 201 episodes plus the 13-episode OVA, so this is a commitment: the payoff is a cast that genuinely grows up. The 2020 film is about adult fans of the in-universe show rather than the witches themselves, best seen after the series. The 25th anniversary projects have been celebratory rather than continuations. Dubs cover only parts of the run, so subtitles are the complete path.
