About Minky Momo
Magical Princess Minky Momo starts with the 1982 series across 63 episodes as Momo helps dreams from Fenarinarsa. The run famously ends on a tragic episode before the dream tapes close.
Yume-wo Dakishimete followed in 1991 across 65 episodes with Momo reborn to a new family. OVAs like La Ronde and the 1994 Tabidachi station special extend the edges. Watch the 1982 series first, then the OVAs, then the 1991 series, since the rebirth assumes the original ending. The 1985 OVAs La Ronde and Yume no Naka no Rondo slot between the runs.
Good to know
Watch the 1982 series before the 1991 series. The rebirth premise spoils the original finale by design, so order is load bearing. The OVAs slot between or after the TV runs as extras. No new Minky Momo anime had been announced as of October 2026, with the 1994 special the last entry. The episode 46 shock still defines the show, so expect a tonal turn there.
