About Re:Zero
Re:Zero follows Natsuki Subaru, who returns to a fixed point in time every time he dies, in a fantasy world that makes him earn every small victory. The first season's 25 episodes aired in 2016, and a 13-episode Director's Cut re-edit from 2020 tells the same story with fuller pacing.
Two OVAs sit between the seasons. Memory Snow is a light side story from 2018, while The Frozen Bond is a 2019 prequel about how Emilia and Puck met. Season 3 adapted the next two arcs in 16 episodes across 2024 and 2025, and season 4 runs 19 episodes from April 8 to September 30, 2026.
Good to know
The two orders differ only in where the OVAs sit. The Frozen Bond is set before the series starts but arrived in November 2019, and Memory Snow is a side story from October 2018 placed early in season 1, around episode 11. Neither is required viewing. Season 4's finale airs September 30, 2026, so the series is still ongoing and a fifth season has not been announced.
