About Saga of Tanya the Evil
Saga of Tanya the Evil starts with season 1 in 2017 following salaryman-turned-child-soldier Tanya against Being X across twelve episodes. The 2019 film continues directly as the next campaign, and a 2021 special bridges toward more. Season 2 premiered July 2026 with twelve weekly episodes through September, continuing the Eastern front war with the Salamander team.
Release order is story order: film after season 1, season 2 after the film. The light novels continue past all of it for readers. Season 2 adapts the next campaign stretch assuming the film's ending seen. No third season has been announced, so the finished season 2 is the current endpoint with the dub trailing from September.
Good to know
Watch season 1, then the film, then season 2. The film is a direct sequel rather than a side story, so skipping it breaks the war's continuity into season 2. The special is an optional extra between film and season 2. Season 2's weekly rollout just finished, making this the first complete point to binge the whole run without waiting.
