About The Rising of the Shield Hero
Naofumi Iwatani is summoned to Melromarc as the Shield Hero, then framed by Princess Malty and forced to fight the Waves with the bought companion Raphtalia and the bird-like Filo at his side. Kinema Citrus has produced the anime since January 2019, with seasons 2 through 4 airing in 2022, 2023 and 2025.
The four aired seasons form one continuous story, so release order is the only order you need. No films, OVAs or specials exist. Season 5 was announced after the season 4 finale and is dated to 2027, with no exact day confirmed.
Good to know
No Shield Hero films, OVAs or specials exist as of September 2026. Isekai Quartet cameos are excluded as non-canon comedy. Season 5 details come from the September 2025 announcement and the July 2026 teaser; the 2027 window has no exact date.
