About Space Brothers
Space Brothers follows brothers Mutta and Hibito Nanba chasing a childhood promise to reach space, across 99 TV episodes from 2012 to 2014 from A-1 Pictures. The prequel film number Zero from 2014 tells an origin story written by manga author Chuya Koyama.
Watch the TV run first, then the film, since the prequel assumes the series. A live action film from 2012 sits outside the anime continuity. The manga finished in 2026 at 46 volumes with the author stating the anime will continue, but no new season is dated.
Good to know
Release order is recommended with the prequel film after the series, while chronological order flips them for rewatches. The planetarium special plays as a supplement outside both lists. With the manga complete and continuation only stated as planned, the TV run plus the film is the anime so far for fans.
