About The Summer Hikaru Died
The Summer Hikaru Died adapts Mokumokuren's manga about Yoshiki sensing friend Hikaru was replaced after a mountain disappearance. CygamesPictures animated 12 episodes from July 6 to September 28, 2025.
Season 2 was greenlit with the finale announcement on September 28, 2025 and no date yet. No films split the run. Watch season 1 episodes 1 through 12 first, then add season 2 once dated. The village dread and body clues only resolve if you track each hike in sequence. The sound design carries the fear.
Good to know
Release order equals story order, so watch season 1 straight. Season 1 is 12 episodes confirmed ending September 28, 2025. Season 2 was announced at the finale with no date, so it sits last with a null year. Do not skip to season 2 material from the manga, since the anime paces reveals weekly. Update the year once the official site dates it.
