About Trigun
Trigun's original run from 1998 follows Vash the Stampede across twenty-six episodes on the desert planet, blending comedy with the Knives reckoning. Badlands Rumble from 2010 slots beside it as a standalone film that needs no placement. Stampede from 2023 reboots the manga in full CG across twelve episodes, and Stargaze from January to March 2026 continues it twelve more as the billed final phase, set two and a half years after the Lost JuLai tragedy.
The two versions are separate continuities, so finish one before starting the other. The original is the complete classic statement, while Stampede plus Stargaze form one reboot story about Vash and Knives from JuLai to the colony fleet message. Either makes a fine start, but the reboot pair must stay together in order.
Good to know
Pick a continuity and finish it. The 1998 series and Stampede retell the same bones with different plots, designs and endings, so mixing them spoils both. Badlands Rumble fits the original's world and can go any time during that run. Stargaze closes the reboot with Vash and Knives at the crash site, and no further phase has been announced, which makes the four entries complete for now.
