About Trigun
Yasuhiro Nightow's Trigun follows Vash the Stampede on Noman's Land with Meryl and Milly caught between him and his twin Knives. Madhouse adapted it as a 26 episode series in 1998 while the manga was unfinished, then returned for the standalone film Badlands Rumble in 2010.
Watch in release order. Studio Orange's Stampede from 2023 is a 12 episode retelling that restarts Vash's origin with new designs and pacing, not a sequel. Stargaze aired January 10 to March 28, 2026 as its 12 episode final phase set 2.5 years later and closes that reboot lane.
Good to know
Badlands Rumble sits inside the 1998 continuity around episodes 9 to 12 but plays fine after the series. Stampede reworks Meryl's role and holds Milly back at first; Stargaze brings Milly Thompson in. The manga base is Trigun and Trigun Maximum.
