About Undead Girl Murder Farce
Undead Girl Murder Farce follows Aya Rindo, an immortal detective reduced to a living head, and Tsugaru Shinuichi, her half-oni bodyguard, as they hunt for Aya's stolen body across 19th-century Europe. Each case pits them against classic monsters reimagined as murder suspects. The anime adapts Yugo Aosaki's novels in thirteen episodes from 2023.
The first arc investigates vampire murders in France. The second moves to Germany for a golem heist. The third closes in England with werewolves and the reveal of Aya's thief. The cases share clues about the organization Birdcage, so later mysteries assume you have met recurring hunters and seen how Aya's deduction style works.
Good to know
Watch episodes one through thirteen in order. The three arcs are not standalone, since the Birdcage plot and the search for Aya's body build across all of them. Starting with the werewolf finale would spoil who survives the vampire case and why Tsugaru trusts Aya. The novels continue beyond the anime, so the adaptation ends with threads open for a possible second season.
