About Usagi Drop
Usagi Drop ran 11 episodes from July to September 2011 about office worker Daikichi taking in young Rin after his grandfather dies suddenly. The Production I.G run keeps to the childcare stretch with quiet neighborhood plots and school runs.
Bunny Drop the film arrived August 2011 from SABU with Kenichi Matsuyama and Mana Ashida on the same setup and early chapters. The manga ran 2005 to 2012 with a time skip second half that neither screen version adapts at all. No new anime has been announced.
Good to know
Watch the 11 episode anime first for the complete childcare arc from start to finish. The film retells the same early chapters rather than continuing, so it works as an alternate visit after. Both stop before the manga time skip by design, which avoids the divisive later plot. Either version stands alone fully.
