About Vampire Knight
Yuki Cross and Zero Kiryu work as guardians at Cross Academy, keeping human students from learning that the beautiful Night Class is made up of vampires. Yuki owes her life to the pureblood Kaname Kuran, while Zero hates vampires even as a dark change grows inside him. The setup blends school drama with a slow-burn mystery about Yuki's own past.
Studio Deen produced 13 episodes that aired from April to July 2008, with Mari Okada handling scripts. Vampire Knight Guilty followed directly from October to December 2008 with 13 more episodes that push the Kaname, Yuki and Zero triangle toward a stopping point. The manga ran to 19 volumes, so the anime covers only the early arcs.
Good to know
There is no separate chronological order for Vampire Knight worth listing. The two seasons form one straight line, so release order and story order are the same list. New viewers should know the anime stops well before the manga ending, and light novels, drama CDs and stage musicals are extras. The sequel manga Vampire Knight: Memories is a separate read.
