About Yatagarasu
Yatagarasu, full title Karasu wa Aruji wo Erabanai, adapts Chisato Abe novels about the crow realm Yamauchi. Yukiya serves prince Wakamiya while four brides compete and beasts press the borders. Twenty episodes aired on NHK from April 2024, animated by Pierrot.
The show splits view between court intrigue and outside war until the threads join. Release order is story order, since the bride clues and the ape moves are timed to collide. The run adapts the first two novels as one closed arc with a planned meeting point.
Good to know
Watch episodes 1 through 20 in order. The two threads look separate on purpose, so shuffling breaks the meeting point. No second season has aired, so the twenty stand as a complete sitting. Novel readers can continue past volume two after the finale for the wider crow politics and court feuds ahead.
