About Avatar: The Last Airbender
Avatar: The Last Airbender ran for 61 episodes across three seasons between February 2005 and July 2008, with Aang and his friends working through Water, Earth and Fire while the Fire Nation hunts for the last Airbender. The Legend of Korra picked up decades later with 52 episodes across four seasons, following Aang's successor Korra through a world that is urbanised, political and openly intolerant. Between the two, Avatar Studios produced Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender, a 2026 film that continues the original series and precedes Korra, and it is exactly the kind of case where release order and story order point in different directions.
Avatar: Seven Havens premiered on Paramount Plus on October 9, 2026 under the subtitle Book 1: Survival. The first three episodes landed on premiere day and the remaining ten were released weekly in batches of three or four through October 30. It follows Avatar Pavi and her long lost twin Avatar Nisha, the reincarnations of Korra, as they protect seven cities that are the last bastions of civilisation after a global cataclysm. Three further seasons have already been ordered, and the show comes from the same creators as the original two, with Nickelodeon Animation and Avatar Studios producing and La Chouette Compagnie animating.
Everything in this guide is the animated continuity. The live action film and Netflix series are separate adaptations and belong to neither list.
Good to know
For a first watch use release order, which means the 2026 Aang film comes after Korra even though its story sits between the two series. The film premiered on Paramount Plus on July 25, 2026 after a limited theatrical run, and it leaked in full before release, which is why reaction threads around it are messy.
Seven Havens is a sequel to Korra rather than a continuation of it, so it works best after both original series. Book 1: Survival has thirteen episodes and the story is still running, with three more seasons ordered.
The live action versions are separate continuities and are covered by neither list.
