About Captain Underpants
Captain Underpants (2017) brings Dav Pilkey's hypno-hero to film: George and Harold hypnotize Principal Krupp into underpants-clad heroism against Professor Poopypants. The Epic Tales series (2018 to 2020) continues across three seasons of school-scale adventures, with the In Space saga and the Mega Blissmas special along the way.
Watch the film first, then the series in order: the show assumes the origin and the boys' comic framing. The series' interactive special Epic Choice-o-Rama (2020) branches like the books' flip pages. The show keeps Pilkey's bathroom humor and heart in balance across 45 episodes.
Good to know
The series recasts the film voices, which takes one episode to accept. In Space and the specials slot between seasons without strict placement, so release order is safe. The interactive special's choices converge like the books' endings. No new series has been announced since 2020, so the film plus Epic Tales is the complete set.
