About Crystal Tipps and Alistair
Crystal Tipps follows Crystal with dog Alistair plus Birdie and Butterfly in five minute silent films with Paul Reade music. Pilot Hide and Seek arrived June 1971 as dialogue free project. Episodes 1 to 24 ran February to March 1972 from Bird to Swimming Pool with dated TX slots. Episodes 25 to 50 ran 1972 to 1974 with picnic to magician stories.
Christmas Special arrived December 1974 at twenty minutes. Q3 London animated the run for BBC One with repeats to 1980 and ITV 1985 to 1987. No second series was ordered. Total run is pilot plus fifty plus special. Name adds extra p to avoid teabar litigation.
Good to know
Watch pilot 1971, then episodes 1 to 50 in TX order, then Christmas 1974. Start with Bird for the format, continue through zoo, circus and farm hours, then finish the holiday special. No dialogue means any order works but keep TX for music and credit changes. The fifty five minute films plus bookends are the full set.
