About Kissyfur
Kissyfur follows circus bears Gus and son Kissyfur escaping to Paddlecab swamp with boat tour work. Four primetime specials aired 1985 to 1986 on NBC from DIC, starting with Bear Roots, then the Saturday series ran September 1986 to December 1988 for two seasons and 26 episodes. Floyd and Jolene gators recur as foils with swamp cubs.
The specials set the train derailment and swamp arrival that the series assumes known. Season 1 covers 1986 school and tour gags, season 2 from 1988 adds new cub beats before the NBC close. Reruns later played in syndication blocks.
