About Steven Universe
Steven Universe tells one five-season story on Cartoon Network about Steven and the Crystal Gems, and it needs to be watched in order. Seasons 1 through 5 ran from 2013 to 2019, moving from Beach City slice-of-life episodes to the Homeworld war and the Diamond resolution.
Steven Universe: The Movie from 2019 jumps two years ahead with Spinel's attack, and the ten-episode epilogue Steven Universe Future closes Steven's own arc. The shorts and the Art and Origins book are extras that fit anywhere after season 1.
Good to know
Do not skip to the movie early, since the Diamonds and Spinel only land if you have seen the Gem backstory episodes. Release order matches story order apart from a few flashback episodes that are clearly marked. Future is short but required viewing rather than a spin-off, since it resolves Steven's trauma after the war.
