About SWAT Kats

SWAT Kats (1993 to 1994) is Hanna-Barbera's action peak: junkyard mechanics T-Bone and Razor moonlight as jet-flying vigilantes over Megakat City across two seasons and 25 episodes. The show plays its threats straight, with Dark Kat and the Metallikats as genuinely menacing villains.

Broadcast order is the guide; the series light-serializes its rogues while keeping episodes standalone. The animation quality embarrassed most 1990s competition. Cancellation came from executive turnover rather than ratings, ending the show mid-momentum. Revival talk, including a Kickstarter-era push, has never filmed.

Good to know

The second season's unfinished episodes (including the Macrobots arc finale) are the fan what-if: scripts and partial animation exist in fragments. The show's violence level drew contemporary complaints, which modern viewers should know going in. The Turbokat's arsenal expands each season for gearhead viewers. No revival has filmed despite decades of creator efforts, so the 25 episodes are the set.
