About ThunderCats
ThunderCats starts with the 1985 Rankin-Bass run of 130 episodes about Thundera's fall and the Third Earth settlement. The 2011 reboot retells the fall serially across 26 episodes with the Book of Omens and power stones, ending on cancellation after one season. Roar from 2020 reboots again as pure comedy with no continuity to either.
The three versions share names and setup but no story, so finish one before starting another. The 1985 run is episodic with a gentle early continuity, the 2011 run is fully serialized and needs episode order kept, and Roar works standalone any time. Release order across versions is the simplest path through all three.
Good to know
Pick a version and finish it. The 2011 reboot assumes nothing from 1985 beyond the premise, and Roar assumes nothing at all. The original's ThunderCats-Ho movie cut slots mid-run as a five-parter and can go in air order. SilverHawks shares studio and voices as a sister show for afterward, not during. No new series has a date, which leaves all three versions complete.
