About Voltron
Voltron starts with Defender of the Universe in 1984 at 124 episodes plus the Fleet of Doom special about the lion force. The Third Dimension in 1998 continues in CG for 26 episodes, Force in 2011 reboots for 26 more, and Legendary Defender from 2016 to 2018 retells across 78 episodes over eight seasons. A live-action film is listed for 2027 without casting confirmed here.
Each version restarts the lions with no shared story, so finish one before the next. The original is episodic, Legendary Defender is fully serialized and needs season order kept. Release order across versions is the simplest path. The GoLion source material sits behind the original only as trivia, not a viewing step.
Good to know
Pick a version and finish it before the next. Legendary Defender is the modern recommended start for newcomers with its complete arc, while the original rewards nostalgia viewing. Third Dimension and Force are skippable unless completism calls, since neither affects the others. The 2027 film has no footage or cast verified, so it waits outside the list until real.
