Voltron has two separate continuities, so treat them as two blocks. Watch the 1984 original first: Lion Force, then Vehicle Team, then the Fleet of Doom special that teams both forces up.
Then start Voltron: Legendary Defender from its season 1. The Netflix reboot retells the premise from scratch across 8 seasons, so nothing from 1984 carries over. Its finale aired in December 2018.
Good to know
Legendary Defender is a full reboot with no story connection to the 1984 series. Two smaller spinoffs, Voltron: The Third Dimension (1998 to 2000) and Voltron Force (2011 to 2012), are optional and not listed. A live-action Voltron film from Amazon MGM Studios finished shooting in May 2025 and is slated for Prime Video in 2027; it had no exact date as of 2026-09-17.
