Arrowhead is the Stockholm co-op house that weaponized friendly fire. Magicka from 2011 mixed eight element spell combos with team killing slapstick, The Showdown Effect from 2013 tried the same chaos as a side scrolling shooter, and the Gauntlet reboot from 2014 streamlined the arcade crawl for four players.
Helldivers from 2015 applied the formula to galactic bug democracy, and Helldivers 2 from February 2024 exploded it into a live service phenomenon.
