About Breath of Fire
Breath of Fire is Capcom's RPG series about Ryu, a youth who turns into dragons, and Nina, a winged companion who joins him. Every entry is self-contained despite the shared names, so release order is the play order, and newcomers usually start with III or IV.
Good to know
Breath of Fire 6 launched in Japan on February 24, 2016 and its servers closed the next year, so it is effectively unplayable now. Capcom treats the series as a resting IP, though Breath of Fire IV reached PC through GOG in 2025.
