About Croc
Croc: Legend of the Gobbos from 1997 follows the crocodile rescuing Gobbos across island worlds on PlayStation, Saturn and PC with Argonaut platforming. Croc 2 from 1999 continues with Gobbo village plots plus handheld spinoffs on Game Boy.
The Legend remaster arrived April 2025 on modern consoles and PC with HD visuals, camera fixes and a Crocipedia museum for newcomers. Croc 2: Kingdom of the Gobbos remaster was announced July 2026 for late 2026 with the same treatment, but it is not out as of September 30. No new original game is announced.
Good to know
New players should start with the 2025 remaster, since it replaces the original cleanly with modern controls. The 1999 sequel assumes the rescue setup, so keep game order from island to village. The Croc 2 remaster stays dated late 2026 until it ships, so treat its slot as a plan. Handheld Croc spinoffs are optional extras after.
