About Dead Rising
Dead Rising began with Capcom's Dead Rising (2006) about photojournalist Frank West surviving the Willamette mall against the clock. Case Zero and Case West bridged to Dead Rising 2 (2010) with Chuck Greene in Fortune City, followed by Off the Record (2011) retelling it as Frank. Dead Rising 3 (2013) moved to Los Perdidos with Nick, and Dead Rising 4 (2016) brought Frank back to Willamette for Christmas.
Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster (2024) rebuilt the original in the RE Engine with modern controls and voices. Capcom has not dated a fifth game as of 2026, but the remaster's sales keep the franchise active rather than closed.
Good to know
Play in release order starting with the Deluxe Remaster over the 2006 original, since it keeps the mall layout with humane controls. The timer stays strictest in the early games and loosens later, so expect the first entries to demand route planning. Off the Record replays the second game's map as Frank, safe to treat as an alternate take after the Chuck version.
