This play order runs through every main Marvel vs. Capcom game, from the arcade tag fighters of the nineties to Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite and the 2024 arcade collection. The games share no real story continuity, so release order is the play order, and Marvel vs. Capcom 2 or Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 are the usual starting points.
Good to know
Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 remains the tournament standard while the 2024 Fighting Collection is the easiest way to play the arcade era on modern platforms. No new entry has been announced as of September 2026.
