About FromSoftware
FromSoftware is the Tokyo studio behind the modern action RPG. Demon's Souls from 2009 set the punishing loop, Dark Souls 1 through 3 across 2011 to 2016 built the linked fire lore, Bloodborne from 2015 traded shields for rally guns, and Sekiro from 2019 made parrying the whole game. Elden Ring from 2022 opened the formula into the Lands Between.
Armored Core 6 from 2023 returned to mech combat between the big fantasy runs. Elden Ring Nightreign from May 2025 reworks the same map as a co-op roguelike. The Duskbloods is dated 2026 as a Switch 2 exclusive. Play in release order since each game refines the dodge and stamina grammar.
Good to know
Release order is the play order. The Souls games share lore threads but every entry stands alone, so no chronology shuffle helps. Play Demon's Souls or Dark Souls 1 first for the base grammar, then any branch. Expansions slot right after their base game and are folded into the notes rather than listed. The Duskbloods is dated 2026 with no exact day and sits last until Nintendo locks it.
