About Gex
Gex began with Crystal Dynamics in 1995 about the TV-obsessed gecko entering the Media Dimension against Rez. Enter the Gecko (1998) expands to 3D collecting remotes across horror, cartoon and kung-fu channels. Deep Cover Gecko (1999) closes the trilogy with the snow, horror and space stations plus the secret agent outfit.
Limited Run's Gex Trilogy (2025) bundled all three with modern controls as the version to play. No new Gex has been dated as of 2026, leaving the trilogy plus its re-release as the complete run rather than a new start.
Good to know
Play the trilogy in release order via the 2025 bundle, since the Rez rivalry and the remote hunting assume the run. Enter the Gecko works as the peak with its channel variety intact across horror and kung-fu. The Game Boy Color versions retell smaller takes on the same hunts, safe as extras after the console originals.
