About King's Quest

King's Quest follows King Graham and family through Daventry with witches, lions and towers. Early games from 1984 set parser puzzles and death humor across three entries. Middle games widen to Rosella, Alexander and Cosima.

Late games move to 3D with Mask of Eternity, while the 2015 reboot retells Graham youth in episodes. No new game has been dated. Play in release order, since spells, lands and kids assume prior quests. Quests stand alone per land, but spell and family rules grow with each era across Daventry.

Good to know

Release order matches the best play path, since each quest reuses Daventry and magic from the last. Early games teach inventory, maps and deaths through Daventry. Middle games add mazes and seas that only click after that base. The reboot works as a modern start, but the family lands best after 1984. Start at Quest for the Crown.
