About Muv-Luv
Muv-Luv Extra released 2001 on PC from Age about Takeru Shirogane picking Sumika or Meiya in school comedy. Unlimited follows 2001 with Takeru waking to BETA war with lasers and TSFs that reframe friends.
Alternative released 2006 with full war, loops and 00 Unit plans across long routes. Each entry assumes prior saves, so newcomers play Extra to Alternative straight for loops. The pace stays steady across entries, with each part adding new faces without losing the core tone. New jobs appear often, with each fix teaching care without losing humor and keeping friends clear.
Good to know
There is no separate chronological order worth listing since Extra to Alternative run as one loop with the same cast, so release order is story order. Play Extra fully before Unlimited, since jokes pay off later dread. Treat the trilogy as complete with Alternative as finale, and save Photon extras for after. Plan extra time for finales, since later parts assume full knowledge of earlier twists.
