About Psychonauts
Psychonauts is Double Fine's psychic spy saga. Runaway acrobat Raz joins a camp for gifted kids, stumbles into a brain stealing plot, and grows into a full agent across games directed by Tim Schafer.
This play order follows release order, which matches story order. The VR title Rhombus of Ruin bridges the first game and the sequel, so play it in the middle. New players should start with Psychonauts (2005).
Good to know
Rhombus of Ruin launched on PlayStation VR in February 2017 and on PC VR in April 2018; it needs a headset and runs about two hours. Tim Schafer said in August 2025 that Double Fine's active projects are all original IP, so no Psychonauts 3 has been announced.
