About Team Ico
Team Ico under Fumito Ueda made Ico in 2001, about a boy guiding Yorda from a castle. Shadow of the Colossus followed in 2005, with Wander felling sixteen colossi to wake Mono. Both ran on PlayStation 2 in full.
The Last Guardian arrived in 2016 after long delays, pairing a boy with the beast Trico. The three share design habits like minimal dialogue, climbing and companion puzzles. Play Ico, then Shadow, then Guardian for the full arc. Remakes of Ico and Shadow on PS3 and PS4 keep the same order.
Good to know
Play in release order. The stories do not share plot, only themes, so there is no timeline order worth building. Shadow is often read as a prequel to Ico, but the team never confirmed a single line, so keep release order for first play. Start with Shadow if you want the best known entry, then circle back to Ico.
