About TY the Tasmanian Tiger
TY the Tasmanian Tiger is Krome Studios' Australian answer to the mascot platformer, launched in October 2002 with Electronic Arts publishing. Ty hunts Thunder Eggs across the outback to power a talisman machine, armed with ironbark and elemental boomerangs that double as tools. The first game sold over a million copies and set up Boss Cass as the running villain.
Bush Rescue from 2004 opened the missions up with vehicles, Night of the Quinkan from 2005 added melee combat and Activision publishing, and Bush Rescue Returns from 2015 closed the series as a 2D entry on Steam. Krome's HD remasters of the first three games from 2016 onward brought them to PC and consoles with the same levels intact.
Good to know
Release order matches story order across all four games, so one list covers it: play 1 through 4 in order with no skips. The HD remasters from 2016 onward are the same games with fresh paint, not new entries, so grab whichever version is handy. The Game Boy Advance versions of TY 2 and TY 3 are separate 2D takes by Halfbrick for curious fans only.
