About Warhawk

Warhawk from 1995 is a single player combat flight game where two pilots fly VTOL craft against the armies of Kreel across six levels. Passwords stand in for saves, and multiple joke endings reward replaying the final mission. The 2007 Warhawk is a multiplayer only remake by Incognito Entertainment with jeeps, tanks, turrets and planes on large maps for up to 32 players.

Starhawk from 2012 by LightBox Interactive is the follow up, adding a full single player campaign about Rift miners and mutants plus a Build and Battle system for dropping bunkers mid fight. Sony shut the PS3 servers in January 2019, so the 2007 game now depends on fan run services, while the 1995 original and Starhawk's campaign still play as released.

Good to know

Play in release order, since each game reboots the setting rather than continuing a plot. The 2007 remake and Starhawk share vehicles and map ideas but tell unrelated stories. The 2007 servers are offline, so expect fan tools like XLink Kai for multiplayer, and note the PSone original plays fine through PSN versions. No new Warhawk or Starhawk has been announced since 2012.
