About Wonder Boy
Wonder Boy starts in 1986 as an arcade run with skateboard stages. Wonder Boy in Monster Land from 1987 adds shops and doors, Wonder Boy III from 1988 splits into Dragon’s Trap adventure and Monster Lair arcade paths.
Monster World IV from 1994 closes the classic run with Asha, while the 2017 Dragon’s Trap remake and Monster Boy from 2018 revive the formula. Asha in Monster World from 2021 remakes Monster World IV. The games share names but reset heroes, so release order suits mechanics over plot.
